Everyone close to me knows that I am a frustrated vet. I’ve always loved exploring and understanding the lives and behaviors of animals. I always cried on movies where the dog, or cat, or tiger, or turtle either dies or is lost and tormented.
So take a day off from life’s cruelties and get yourself your Manila Ocean Park pass (different prices with different inclusions). Either you buy the tickets from MOP itself, or from websites like metrodeal and ensogo, it’s a sure fire hit!

I am wide-eyed as a a child when I see animal stuffed toys from Blue Magic, and it’s a secret dream to own one of those life-sized tigers from their store. I am a curious kid who would always tune in to animal planet or read national geographic magazines.

The Manila Ocean Park is a good start!

First off was the Birds of Prey and then the Oceanarium, it is an outdoor display of fishes, with description of each fish. It is both educational and fun to be in this place.

When you go inside, you will find fish in their respective mini aquarium, in blue background so it would appear as if we’re looking at the ocean itself.

It would be best to start from one point and continue going the other direction. There are a lot of kids and their families, so please be patient if you get stepped on, or if you smell sweaty kids. After all, this is their place. =)

If you go deeper, you’ll meet the sting rays, sharks, and other sea creatures.

Trails to Antarctica and the Snow Village

You can stay there as long as you can bear the cold.

South American Sea Lion showcases 2 female sea lions for about 15-20 minutes, doing tricks like applauding, dancing, and recovering things thrown at the pool.

Dancing Jellies – the lights made maximum effect on the seemingly dancing jellies, along with the zen-filled music running in the background.

Other people who may have already been to the MOP thought that this was boring. But for me, it touched the “poet” in me and I could sit there forever watching the jellies and write the saddest poems, the most hopeful letters, the most emotional essays. It was a room I didn’t wanna leave.

The fish spa will give your feet the feeling of being “massaged” by small fish which would take off the dead skins on your feet, and for some, LEGS!! It’s ticklish and relaxing at the same time.

Lastly, and my favorite part, is Yexel’s Toy Museum which houses Lord of the Rings, Game of Thrones, Spiderman, Superman, Minions, Star Wars and Iron Man.

So, bring your kids, and the once-young to the Manila Ocean Park and experience for yourself what fun and excitement we had when we were there.
Have fun!!!
